Marion Feldman is recognized as a leading performer and pedagogue of cello and chamber music. She has been on the cello and chamber music faculty of the Manhattan School of Music since 1974 and the Pre-College Division since 1982. She has been a member of the artist cello faculty at the NYU Steinhardt School of Music and Performing Arts Professions since 1999. Her longest affiliation has been with the CUNY Brooklyn Conservatory of Music since 1972. She is also a member of the faculty of the City University Graduate Center.

Miss Feldman received her training as a scholarship student at the Juilliard School of Music, where she studied with her mentor, Luigi Silva. Additional studies at the Juilliard school were with Leonard Rose, Bernard Greenhouse and Zara Nelsova. She received her bachelors degree there in 1960 and her masters degree in 1962. Chamber music studies were with William Primrose, Artur Balsam, Louis Persinger and Hans Letz.

Professor Feldman has appeared extensively throughout the United States and the Far East as orchestral soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. Included among her many engagements have been numerous recitals at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, Tully Hall (Lincoln Center) and Merkin Hall in New York City. She has been invited to many festivals in the Far East, among them those in Taiwan, Korea and Mainland China. From 1993 to the present, she has appeared at many festivals in Korea. These include the Seoul Music Festival, Cheju-Halla Festival and the Kangneung-Manhattan Festival. She was invited to give master classes as a visiting professor at Soong-Sil University in Seoul and following this invited by the government of Mainland China to give master classes and a recital at Shanghai Conservatory and the Central Conservatory in Beijing.

Feldman was for ten years a member of the New York Lyric Arts Trio, touring extensively throughout the US. She later formed the New Manhattan Trio with renown artists Erick Friedman, violinist and pianist, Joseph Seiger. In 2014-15 she gave a series of master classes in Taiwan. They were at the prestigious National Taipei Arts University, Shih-Chien Normal University, National Kaoshiung Normal University and the Taiwan Classical Music Society. She returned to teach in Mainland China at the Beijing Conservatory in 2019 giving masterclasses there and in Arts HS and grade schools in Beijing. In 2015 she was honored at NYU as a recipient of the NYU Excellence in Teaching Award.
