American bassoonist Conrad Cornelison is the Principal Bassoonist of the Jacksonville Symphony, and has previously held positions with the Houston Grand Opera, the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, and the Symphony of Southeast Texas. Other professional engagements include numerous appearances with the Houston Symphony, appearances with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Houston Ballet Orchestra, Da Camera of Houston, the San Antonio Symphony, and the Louisiana Philharmonic. In addition to his performance endeavors, Mr. Cornelison serves on the faculty of the University of North Florida.

Conrad’s summer activities include regular performances with Festival Mozaic in San Luis Obispo, California. He has also performed as Guest Principal Bassoon with the Bellingham Festival of Music, served as bassoon faculty with Interlochen’s Bassoon Institute, and performed as Principal Bassoon with the Saint Augustine Music Festival. He has also performed with the National Repertory Orchestra, the Pacific Music Festival, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. An avid chamber music enthusiast, Mr. Cornelison performs regularly with the San Marco Chamber Music Society, where he also serves on the organization’s Board of Directors.

On the world stage, he has performed in Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Japan. In 2011, he was awarded third prize in the International Double Reed Society's Young Artist Competition, as the sole finalist from the North American continent. In 2008, he was a winner of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts' YoungArts competition. He has been recognized by the Kentucky State Senate for his achievements in the arts.

Mr. Cornelison holds degrees from The Juilliard School and Rice University. His teachers have included Benjamin Kamins, Patricia Rogers, Eric Stomberg, Matthew Schuler, and Dan Duncan.
